Will restore Kashmir's status at appropriate time: Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah today promised that the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir will be restored at the right time and the demands of the people of the Union Territory of Ladakh will be addressed. Addressing a media conference here, Shah claimed that there has been a change in terrorism-hit Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370 and no local person has joined a terrorist organisation in the last nine months.

Addressing a conference organised by ‘ABP News’ and ‘Hindustan’, Mr Shah said, “Jammu and Kashmir, where separatism was going on since the 1990s, has witnessed this qualitative change. Earlier, Pakistan did not need to send terrorists from across the border. They used to hand over weapons to our children. Now the situation has changed. The people of Jammu and Kashmir feel that they are a part of the entire country and the entire country belongs to them.”
