Fugitive diamond merchant Nirav Modi does not want to come to India, so he has filed a fresh application in the UK High Court against his extradition and the court has adjourned the hearing in the case till March. India's ED and CBI teams are currently in London. They are opposing Nirav's appeal. Nirav has been declared a fugitive economic offender in India. Nirav is accused of defrauding more than Rs 6498 crore. A British court has already ruled in favour of India on the Indian government's extradition request. Fugitive diamond merchant Nirav Modi, who has been in jail for more than six years, had told a British court that if the hearing of his extradition case to India on charges of fraud and money laundering resumes in London, it will have sensational revelations. Earlier, Nirav Modi had appeared before High Court Judge Simon Tinkler at the Royal Courts of Justice to present his case in another case. This case related to an outstanding loan of more than $8 million from Bank of India.
