'No permission was taken from the police', Karnataka government holds RCB responsible for Bengaluru stampede; Kohli also mentioned in the report

  The investigation report into the stampede during the victory parade of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has come. The Siddaramaiah government has submitted its report to the Karnataka High Court. The report says that RCB had invited people to join the victory parade without the permission of the police. 11 people died in the victory parade. Along with this, more than 50 people were injured. The state government had requested the court to keep the report confidential but the court said that there is no legal basis for this confidentiality. RCB did not legally take permission from the police The state government has said in its report that the RCB management had contacted the police on June 3 after winning the IPL final match but it was just an information. The management did not legally take permission. According to the law, such permission has to be taken at least seven days before the event. The report mentions RCB's post The report submitted by the government said that without consulting the police, RCB posted a photo on its official social media handle at 7.01 am the next day, in which information was given about free entry for the public and inviting the public to participate in the victory parade, which would start from Vidhan Soudha and end at Chinnaswamy Stadium." The report said, "Subsequently on 04.06.2025 at 8:55 am, RCB shared a video clip of Virat Kohli, a key player of the RCB team, on its official handle @Rcbtweets, in which he told that the team wants to celebrate this victory with the people of Bengaluru city and RCB fans in Bengaluru on 04.06.2025." It was announced that a victory parade will be held from Vidhan Soudha to Chinnaswamy Stadium from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. On 3 June, RCB won the title for the first time by defeating Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
