President Draupadi Murmu embarks on indigenous submarine INS Vaghshir

  President Draupadi Murmu today embarked on the indigenous submarine INS Vaghshir of the Indian Navy at the Karwar Naval Base in Karnataka. She has become the second President to board the submarine. Earlier, the then President Abdul Kalam Azad had travelled in the submarine.

Today, President Draupadi Murmu was accompanied by the Chief of the Navy Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi. The President reached the submarine wearing the naval uniform. This is the first visit of President Murmu in the Kalvari category and the second visit of any President.
