The Pakistani army is facing a serious ammunition crisis these days. According to a report by news agency ANI, the army has only enough ammunition to fight a war for 96 hours. This means that if a major war breaks out, the Pakistani army will not be able to last long. A major reason for this crisis is the recent shipment of weapons sent by Pakistan to Ukraine. Pakistan has exhausted its stock, especially due to the heavy supply of 155mm artillery shells. These shells are very important for Pakistan's artillery-based war strategy, which is now being directly affected. Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF), Pakistan's arms manufacturing company that supplies ammunition to the army, is no longer able to meet domestic demand due to outdated equipment and limited production capacity. POF claims that its priority is domestic needs, but in the current situation, it has failed. This issue was raised in a meeting of top army officers According to an ANI report, this serious situation was discussed in a special meeting of corps commanders held on May 2. Senior army officers are very worried about this situation and are feeling uneasy to some extent. Former army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has already warned about Pakistan's limited war capabilities. He cited economic and logistical problems as the main reasons. The current economic situation of Pakistan has worsened with inflation at its peak, continuously increasing debt and dwindling foreign exchange reserves.
