Peace talks with Afghanistan's Taliban government remain a priority: Pakistan

Pakistan's Information Minister said on Wednesday that peace talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan continued for four days in Istanbul but did not yield any results.

Pakistan's Information Minister Ataullah Tarar accused the Taliban government of refusing to take action against terrorists responsible for cross-border attacks.

The talks followed the first round of talks in Doha, which led to a ceasefire between the two sides on October 19.

Pakistan accuses the Taliban of harboring terrorists who carry out the attacks, while Afghanistan denies that its soil is being used against Pakistan.

Pakistan's Information Minister said on social media platform 'X' (X) that despite the mediation of Qatar and Turkey, no practical solution was reached in the talks. Afghanistan has not yet reacted to Tarar's statement.

Earlier, the state media of Pakistan and Afghanistan had said that there was a stalemate in the talks and both had blamed each other for failing to reach an agreement.
