  Colombia Earthquake: A 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia, killing 111 people. The earthquake buried hundreds of people under rubble and forced residents of the capital Bogota to evacuate their homes. Its tremors were also felt in neighboring Ecuador and Panama. Local authorities confirmed that at least 40 people had died in the Risaralda region and 27 in the Valle del Cauca region. In addition, 9 people died in Choco, 2 in Caldas and one person in Antioquia. Cities such as Pereira, Quibdo, Cali and Manizales were badly affected. The Colombian Geological Service Center said that this is the most powerful earthquake recorded in the country in the last decade, after which two aftershocks of magnitude 2.8 and 4.8 also occurred. A major earthquake measuring 7.4 on the Richter scale struck western Colombia today. At least 111 people were killed and hundreds injured. Many buildings collapsed and many others cracked. The atmosphere was chaotic. According to reports, the people of the South American country and neighboring Ecuador were shocked by the powerful tremors. People came out of their homes and buildings due to this earthquake. The US Geological Survey (USGS) and the relevant Colombian department said that the epicenter of this earthquake was in the municipality of 'San José del Palmar' in the Choco region, about 400 kilometers west of the Colombian capital, Bogota.
