The very next day after the dharna in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence in protest against the police action on students, the Congress has extended its ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ campaign across the country. The party has directed senior leaders to reach colleges, universities and coaching centres across the country and directly interact with students on serious issues like paper leaks, delay in exams, expensive education and unemployment. Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal said in an important message to party leaders that the youth and students of the country are extremely distressed by the continuous paper leaks, uncertainty in the recruitment process and rising unemployment. He said that the main objective of this campaign is to establish accountability in the education system and create public pressure on the government to protect the future of students. It is worth mentioning that Rahul Gandhi had launched this campaign from Kota, Rajasthan on June 17, after which an event was also organized in Dehradun on July 17. Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi has called for the country's education system to be freed from the 'base of exploitation' spreading under the supervision of the current government.
