Vice Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan takes over as Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief

  Vice Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan today took over as the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command (WNC). He will succeed Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, who will be the next Chief of the Navy from May 31. Prior to his appointment as the Commanding-in-Chief, Vatsayan served as the 47th Vice Chief of the Navy at Naval Headquarters, where he was responsible for the strength, development and future readiness of the Indian Navy. The Flag Officer, an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, Pune, was commissioned into the Indian Navy on January 1, 1988.
