Yuzvendra Chahal Alcohol: Yuzvendra Chahal was admitted to the drug addiction center for 26 days due to alcohol.

Yuzvendra Chahal Alcohol: Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal has revealed that he was struggling with alcohol addiction and had to enter a rehabilitation center after the situation worsened. Chahal, who has retired from first-class cricket, said that spending 26 days there has brought about a big change in his personal life.

One of the most successful bowlers in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Shumar Chahal spoke to former India opener Akash Chopra in a podcast about the tough times in his life. He said that after playing county cricket last year, his addiction to alcohol crossed the limits, due to which he decided to go to a rehabilitation center.

According to Chahal, this decision helped him mature and balance his emotions. He said that during the last IPL season, his body started to feel like a 30-year-old again. He also started doing gym exercises, fielding drills and training properly.

The habit of alcohol increased after the divorce
The 36-year-old leg-spinner said that when he started playing in the IPL in 2011, he got addicted to alcohol. Going to parties was common then. South African cricketer AB de Villiers once told him that balance is very important in life. Chahal admitted that this sounds easy to hear but is difficult to implement.

He said that after the divorce, his mental condition was not good and his addiction to alcohol increased. They realized that if this trend continues, they will harm cricket itself. So he decided to change his life. Family and close friends supported him during this difficult time.

There were also anxiety and panic attacks
Chahal said that being in public life, people used to comment on his personal life as well, which hurt him. He had spoken to former BCCI treasurer Anirudh Chaudhary and demanded to stay away from the game for some time. He said that during that period anxiety and panic attacks started happening. At times during the seizure, his heart would beat fast, his face would shrink and it would become difficult to speak. Now he says that he is feeling much happier and better than before.
