US-Iran-Israel War: Iran rejects EU's 'free passage' argument

US-Iran-Israel War: Iran’s Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the European Union’s (EU) stand on the rules of navigation in the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. Accusing the EU of ‘double standards’ and ‘hypocrisy’, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai said that the talk of ‘unconditional passage’ has now become just a story. He made it clear that the aggressive actions of the US and Israel have changed the security equation of the region.

Reacting sharply to the statements of the EU’s foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, Baghai said that Europe only uses international laws to lecture others. He raised the question of why Europe keeps quiet and gives a green light to these actions when the US and Israel adopt an aggressive stance against Iran and atrocities are committed against Iranians. Baghai said that the European Union's failure to follow through on its promise has made a mockery of international law.
