Punjab government will send a panel for the appointment of DGP

The Punjab government will soon send a panel of names with the qualifications for the post of Director General of Police (DGP) in the state to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, while answering questions from reporters here today, said that the panel will be sent within the time given to the Punjab government, following the rules. The state government has also sought new officers from the UPSC, while some officers have come for training.

He said that the promotions of Tehsildars or PCS officers of Punjab will also be discussed. Earlier, the promotions of police officers in the state were stalled for 10 years because the Chief Minister did not have time to sign, now the police officers are being promoted in a timely manner in the state.
