India Pakistan Conflict: Families of those killed in the India-Pakistan war will get Rs 10 lakh, CM announces

  Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday announced an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh each to the families of the civilians killed in Pakistani shelling. The state government has taken this decision as an effort to express its condolences to the bereaved families and share their pain. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that of course no compensation can ever replace the loss of a loved one or fill the pain suffered by the family.

To express our sympathy and solidarity with these affected families, we have announced an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh to the families of all the deceased.

'We stand with each affected family in this hour of grief'

Expressing deep grief over the loss of innocent lives in Pakistani shelling, he said that my government is taking all possible measures to alleviate the hardships of our people. The administration is alert and proactive to ensure relief and security to the residents of the border districts.

The Chief Minister reiterated his resolve to provide all necessary assistance to the affected families and directed the concerned officials to expedite the relief and rehabilitation process. He said that we stand with every affected family in this hour of grief.
